EXCERPT from Rainbow of Redemption, Journal #1, The Love Edition

I HEAR LOVE

I hear the loud whispers of love.

The soft yelling of love, I hear.

I resist the urge to turn in its direction,

even as I cock my ear.

Love's soft murmuring attempts

to caress my aching heart.

Its healing voice attempts

to attend to my wounded heart.

I hear love, yet I wait.

I hear love and yet I hesitate.

I hear love.

PEACE

Colossians 4:12-15 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness,, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Lord,

for many of us this is a tall order.

Help us to REALLY understand what You are saying to us in this passage of scriptures.

Sensitize our ears to hear the Holy Spirit speaking Your truth to us and leading us in pleasing You with willing obedience.

Let us fully receive your forgiveness and the completeness of that forgiveness that we would be enabled through the Holy Spirit to extend forgiveness.

Help us to love others with Your unconditional love.

Lead us in our worship of You to become more like You in the living out of our lives.

Lord, help us to let Your peace be referee and umpire in our hearts so that our lives promote peace in our environments, whether it be our homes, our workplace, our schools or our churches, or wherever You place us, Lord.

We love You and we are grateful for Your everlasting love and Your peace, which surpasses ALL comprehension, that guards our hearts and our minds.

In Jesus' Name,

God is Sovereign.

Matter Resolved

For the first two years of my salvation,

I struggled with the issue of God's will

versus my own.

I argued, rebelled, whined and pouted,

trying to prove and convince God and myself

that I was grown.

How did that work out for me,

you ask?

Well, God humbled me and gently brought me

to my knees real fast.

The prophet declared the year 2009

would be a year in which matters

would be resolved.

Well, acknowledging, accepting,

and embracing God's sovereignty,

for me, was the most important

matter of all.

Beauty

I look around and I see so many beautiful things;

an intricately colored flower,

a blue-black, star-filled night,

an orangey, yellowish, red flamed sunset,

and a crystal clear, blue sky

Then I look inside me, Lord and I see Your work in me.

And it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

By Your Spirit, my life has become the result of Your workmanship.

Because of You, I am being made into a beauty.

Lord, I thank You!

SEEKING WISDOM

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee. Proverbs 2:10-11

Lord, I seek after Your wisdom. I open my heart to receive and welcome Your wisdom. As I search and study Your word, I delight in it's knowledge. It speaks life unto my soul.

Lord, I ask You to open my understanding. I desire to be preserved and kept by You.

Lord, I thank You for Your word, which guides and directs me to every good path.

I love You, Lord.

No Fear In Love Leads To Obedience

Deuteronomy 20:10-11

If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul. For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.

Lord, I desire to keep Your commandments and Your statutes. Give me ears to hear and listen to Your voice through Your word. Increase my thirst and hunger for Your word. Fill my heart with the delight of obedience. Enable me through Your Holy Spirit to surrender my whole heart and soul to You, Lord.

I thank You for Your word and for Your desire to bless me.
